I'll have two one-of-a-kind archival prints in the show, but sadly I will be in LA during the opening. :/

OK, I have a question. I'm a graphic arts major and my 12 year old daughter is a budding artist, so I love taking her to things like this. Is this something that would be acceptable for a 12 year old to attend, because it sounds awesome!

I believe that it would be acceptable, though alcohol will be available to those who are of age.

Toledo School for the arts is involved in some capacity that evening and I think there is a children's workshop on the 6th floor that night. I will check on that and post up here if it is correct.

I am sure it would be fine, but I don't have kids, and therefore not the best judge!!

it should be fine for the whole family
i think in general bringing kids to arts events is encouraged

Well, I don't drink and neither does she...LOL! Sorry, couldn't resist! Sounds like a good time for "date night" for she and I! Now I'm just crossing my fingers that nothing comes up between now and then that we can't go!

GZ,
If you want I can let you know for sure whether my daughter and I are going or not and if we do you can look for a 40 something mom with very short hair, hanging out with her 12 year old daughter who also has very short hair, and say hello! :D

Holly,

Toledo Museum of Art is doing a youth workshop from 5-8 on the 6th floor.

I dropped off my work last night... and the show looks amazing! It is hung salon-style and there is a ton of great work.

Apparently, that storm crossing the nation at the moment is going to be dumping on us by that time. The weather service has forecast that the I80 corridor should get an inch, with freezing rain, but the I90 corridor (which should include Toledo) should get 3-5 inches. All those attending may find a parking problem, so give yourself at least 15 more minutes.

As always, something or another comes up. This time it's because the 12 year old his running a fever of 103. :-( I hope those that attend have a great time! Maybe I can go see the exhibition before it closes!

The weather was terrible and I had a bad time up and down the AWT. Hence, I only went for an hour. The artwork was fairly good. Some of the glassware from Kuznicki was eye-catching and I stuck my head in her studio a few times. The featured music of Lesniewicz was also fairly good and could be heard even on the 6th floor. I asked him if he had a CD or other samples of his music, but alas he didn't. Doh!

There were only a few pieces of sculpture, but those were good.

But, boy, the weather was terrible. Coming to stops on the AWT, I just kept sliding. I was forced to abrade a tire against the curb to find some friction. Yuck! I'm glad I only stayed for an hour.

I noticed two instances of people who could have been Holly and her daughter, but I was too cowardly to say hello. It's just as well; she wasn't there anyway, given the above posting.
