Well, it seems Toledos' latest embarrassment, the McConnell business, has produced a charge, and a minor one at that. That ought to shake Toledos' criminal element to its rotten core! I'll bet any would be fraudsters will leave town now, secure in the knowledge Toledo justice will not tolerate the kind of activities Ms. McConnell is involved in. A THOUSAND dollar fine, and a POSSIBLE year in some country club jail will literally scare the bejezzus out of crooks! BRAVO-BRAVO!!
A Stinking Misdemeanor?

As far as the false report/lying to police goes, that is a fairly standard charge and it has nothing to do with the other stuff she may or may not have done. You can rest assured that is she did what many believe (stealing from clients, settling lawsuits without client permission, etc...), this misdemeanor will only be the beginning of her problems. On top of that, anyone who has experience with the IRS knows that back taxes in the tens of thousands of dollars don't just go away.
I doubt this is even close to the last you will hear about her legal woes.

This is only the tip of the iceberg I fear.
Wasn't there a report that she met with the guy that has a lawsuit against her, the morning she came up missing?

I think she should at least have to pay the costs of the investigation - manpower. That was people's tax dollars at work, wasted. I think they made the runaway bride do that - or at least some of it.

Exactly. I don't think that $1,000 is going to recover what was spent looking for her sorry behind.

That's the problem with "socialized policing." That is some people use or abuse the services more than others.
The scary thing is, most people don't have a clue about most of the happenings in the City of Toledo! She (Karen) is not being treated any different than anyone else who commits crime in this town. She (karen) will probably get a tougher sentence because it was made public. The fact is, the more crime you commit in Toledo, the less you are punished! If i do 30 Burglaries and get caught on 1, they will give a lighter sentence if I fess up to the other 29! I can have 20 warrants (charges) in muni court and if I plea to a few, the rest will be dropped. This is easy to prove, just do the research. My wifes car was broken into and purse stolen. Granted she should not have left her purse in the car but the point is they caught the suspect and had her on 8 other felony cases. They dropped 7 and she pled to 1 and got 6 months in jail, followed by letters to me advising of early release! They cant hold people in the jail because it is to small and TPD has instituted a policy of issuing court dates on the street and people never see jail. The Prosectors officer will not allow charges of "trafficking food stamps" even though people have stated they use these stamps as payment for drugs and other services! Trafficking Food Stamps is a felony and officers see it daily! All I can say is, "if only people knew how it really worked"!!!!! I have even seen charges dropped because the defendant failed to show for court!!!

"If convicted, she could serve up to six months in jail and be fined $1,000."
Since it was over the state lines the fedz can charge her as well.
But there's far worse crimes in the world. Her punishment is practicing law.
