This is going to be great. Two days after Ron Paul supporters raise $5 million to $7 million (in 1-day), on top of the almost $12 million already raised this 4th quarter.

Ron Paul's campaign will bring in more cash this quarter than any of the other GOP contenders; and a few million more than Mitt Romney (who will come in 2nd place in fundraising).

Order a pizza, put some popcorn in the microwave. This is going to be a great interview to watch.

Paul has two big deficits that will keep him from the GOP nomination:
1.) he's not 'Christian' enough
2.) he's not a warmonger

Other than that, he has some very great ideas that never will see the light of day.

Not Christian enough? Did you see this...

Ron Paul is a gynecologist, so he knows how to handle Glenn Beck. Oh snap!

I'm sure it'll be on drool tube as soon as it airs. I bet Morton Downey Jr. Beck will try digging into him or getting him to say something to get him blacklisted even more.

thx for the heads up.

"Other than that, he has some very great ideas that never will see the light of day."

Great enough for you to vote for him?

I'm going down to the BOE to register as a Republican. That way, I can vote in the Repub primary. My choice: RON PAUL. It'll be a rare but spooky thrill to finally cast a vote for a real politician who actually understands the US Constitution and has spent his political career FOLLOWING IT.

The Repubs will go completely apeshit and try to blacklist him even more, I'm sure. They have their work cut out for them, since they merely need to get this book out of the library:

I actually went to the Board of Elections a couple months ago, to change party affiliation. The lady at the counter told me that I would have to change PARTIES the day of the primary.

That didn't sound right....so I questioned her about it a couple times. She insisted that I would have to wait until the day of the primary. Does this sound right ?

Why does he even run as a republican? I've got a buddy who's one of those social conservatives. I asked him about Paul. He said he'll never win because he's against the war. Pretty fucked up direction the party's heading in...

$3.5 trillion couldn't have been wasted invested any other way. We live in the best of all worlds. Agree or concur?

And with such a wide political spectrum, 2 parties should be able to cover it all. Dogma A or dogma B, that covers the whole alphabet, right?

Walter Anthony...yes, what she told you is correct. In Ohio, your party affiliation is determined by the primary ballot you request during a partisan primary every even year.

On March 4th, they will ask you which ballot and when you request Republican, they will mark that down, effectively changing your affilation to that party. It will stay that way until 2010 when you will have another opportunity to request a partisan ballot.

I do recall some old provision about a notorized letter or something similar, but I'm not sure if that is still in effect...

Maggie and the gal rom the BOE is correct. You can change your party affiliation at the poll on the primary day. You just have to ask for a Republican ballot and that will change your affiliation; it's called an "Open Primary."

I do not believe you need a notirized letter. I changed my affiliation to Republican in 2003 (i think that's when it was) and all I did was ask for a Republican ballot.

I really think that the independents and democrats who are switching parties to vote for Paul is the wild card in this race. All the blue hair R's who they normally count on to vote in these primaries could be out done by Paul's unconventional strong grassroots campaign.

Polls can measure preference but they don't measure intensity and Paul's backer are passionate.

This story (http://www.bellinghamherald.com/102/story/264599.html) "County GOP sees influx of Paul backers" helps illustrate this point. From the story, “It’s wide open,” Dow said, which is what could give Paul more local delegates. “There hasn’t been anything like this since 1964.”

Moreover, "County GOP Central Committeeman John Robinson is even more concerned about local Paul supporters and Paul’s candidacy.

“In my opinion he’s a Trojan horse,” Robinson said. “He’s a (Republican in name only). That’s how I feel about that, and I’ll be upfront about it and I don’t care.”

I find it funny that now a RINO is defined as someone who IS a conservative.

Alas, it seems that Ohio has no HQ for Ron Paul. Is the Repub Primary on March 4th?

The primary is March 4th for Republicans AND Democrats...
