But hey, it's all about "progress" so it's OK.

June 26, 2008 Toledo Blade - Toledo Area Metroparks to acquire 3 land parcels
The parcels were about four, five, and nine acres and will be purchased for $38,000, $45,000, and $84,550, respectively, from private owners, said Metroparks spokesman Scott Carpenter.
Funds generated by the Metroparks' 0.3 mill land-acquisition levy will cover the cost of the first two pieces of land. A grant through the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency will pay for the third parcel, he said. Not a lot of land acquired from these purchases, but every bit helps. The Metroparks has made larger Oak Openings land purchases in the past.

The Oak Openings Region
Elegance.
Natural wonder.
Gift from glaciers.
Noticed by The Nature Conservancy.
"One of the Last Great Places on Earth."
Contains more rare and endangered species of nature than anywhere else in Ohio.
Nesting birds from the north, south, west intersect.
The region's best environmental classroom.
But it's disappearing.
Suburban sprawl.
Ignorance.
