Goodbye Southwyck

Even though the end has been in sight for a while, it was kind of sad to read in yesterday's Blade that Southwyck Mall was shutting the doors for good. I grew up in the South End and Southwyck was THE place to be in the early 80's. I have a lot of good memories there: getting Miami Vice style duds at Merry Go Round, browsing the records at Camelot and NRM, getting older kids to buy us cigarettes from Port Royal, eating at Barry Bagel, sitting on the lion statues outside the mall entrance to the Lion Store, etc. Not to mention Orange Julius and Red Baron!

Anyone else have any good memories of Southwyck?
