Budget Hearing

March 18th

Please join me Tuesday, March 18th from 6 to 8 p.m. for a district hearing on the city's budget. City administrators will be on hand to answer questions at UT's College of Engineering in Nitschke Hall (1715 N. Westwood).

Road Paving News

The road repaving list is out. Our District will have five times as many roads paved this year as all of last year. Our District is finally getting a fair share of the asphalt compared with the other districts. I toured the neighborhoods and heard from many of you about your streets and lobbied for as much as I could. I'm also working to get more of Secor Rd. paved using non-city funds. I'll keep you posted.

DISTRICT FIVE
Drummond Bancroft to Kenwood
Haughton Central to Monroe
Letchworth Central to Kenwood
Middlesex Bancroft to Kenwood
Pelham Middlesex to Drummond
Thoman Woodmont to Douglas
Wendover Central to Monroe
Alexis Flanders to Douglas
Monroe St. City Corp Line to Talmadge
Secor ROW Alexis to Ohio/Mich St. line
Woodley Road Central to I475 Bridge
Douglas Road I-475 Bridge to Berdan

Gone Graffiti

The old Pizza Hut on Talmadge was recently covered completely with graffiti. It was a huge eye sore. I notified the owners as well as the mayor's office. The owners said they would paint over it when it got warmer so, "the paint would stick." I thought it odd that vandals had paint that would stick but the owners didn't. Nevertheless, the city took action and pointed it. The city is sending a bill to the property owners.

Happy Easter

I hope you and your families have a happy Easter. If I can help you with anything, or if you have a concern about something in the city, please let me know. Positive comments and ideas are always welcome, too.

Don't Forget

March 21, 22, 23 -- Franklin Park 16 is showing The Passion of the Christ. No charge. Showtimes are 4 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. each day.

March 24th -- The Board of Community Relations is holding a Parent Focus Group to get feedback on a variety of parental issues, including the city's current curfew. It will be held at the Sanger Branch Library at 6 p.m. The public is welcome.
