Operation Backpack

Here's a simple thing to do to help kids in Toledo schools. This is from a CedarCreek flyer. Operation Backpack is part of CedarCreek's local outreach program.

The new school year is just around the corner. Our goal this year is to provide 1500+ backpacks filled with school supplies to several inner-city Toledo schools. We want to make sure that NO 1st or 2nd grader is without the necessary supplies to succeed in school. We will collect the supplies until August 12.

School Supply List

inexpensive backpack
box of 24 crayons
#2 pencils
box of colored magic markers
box of colored pencils
school box/zip pouch
pair of Fiskars scissors
erasers
one-subject, wide-ruled notebooks
glue sticks
pocket folders
roll of paper towels
box of Kleenex
tub of baby wipes
bottle(s) of liquid hand soap

Since the flyer wasn't specific about numbers or sizes for some items, I just winged it.
