Carty Finkbeiner's approval rating is 17 percent

Sep 25, 2008 - WTOL - Mayor Finkbeiner's approval rating lowest ever :

Fewer and fewer Toledoans now feel Carty Finkbeiner is getting results as mayor. "The approval rating for mayor is the lowest I've seen in any of the research I've done on the mayor's race going over 20 years," says Stan Odesky whose office did the poll.

A new Odesky poll of nearly 200 Toledoans shows the mayor with an approval rating of 17 percent. Last year, his approval rating was 36 percent. "We said that was probably at the stage the mayor could not win trying to run again... and he's half that," Odesky says.

"I think he does too much micro-management. He gets into things he shouldn't get into. I'm not extremely happy with Carty," says Dave Macy. "The Toledo economy... jobs just moving out of the area. It's not a place a lot of young people want to live in, and I think there needs to be new leadership," Robert Wells tells us.

According to Odesky, the new poll should provide fuel for those considering to run in next year's race. With that being said, Odesky doesn't expect this poll to affect Carty Finkbeiner's decision whether or not to run again. "Other times, it looked like it would be very difficult, but he'd still come through. You can never count him out. That's for sure."

Mayor's response: A statement from the mayor says, "Leaders lead. Pollsters poll. The only poll that ever counts is the poll taken on election day."

The delusional mayor fancies himself as a leader.

Next summer should be another morbidly fun mayoral primary season like last time.
