On Jan 29, 2007, Laura Bush named a native South Toledoan the White House executive pastry chef.
Mr. Yosses, a graduate of Bowsher High School, could not be reached for comment last night. However, his father, Edward Yosses, who still lives in South Toledo, said last night, “If he’s on Cloud Nine now, he’s not alone.” Working in a pizzeria while studying at UT “was the extent of his culinary experience” while living in Toledo, his father said.
Trained in classical French cooking, the younger Mr. Yosses has been a chef for more than 30 years. Mr. Yosses’ most recent project has been assisting in the opening of Paul Newman’s Dressing Room in Westport, Conn.
