Hi folks:
Pardon the non-bird content here, but since most birders are also
interested in natural history as a whole, I would like to announce the
availability of the second edition of Dragonflies and Damselflies of
Northeast Ohio.
This volume includes 140 species, with distribution maps covering the 14
northeast Ohio counties. The book is authored by some of Ohio's most
talented naturalists: Larry Rosche, Judy Semroc, and Linda Gilbert, with
illustrations by Jennifer Brumfield.

This book breaks a lot of new ground, including multiple depictions of
each species using stunning macro photography as well as illustrations,
notes on behavior, habitat preferences, and the latest understanding of
regional abundance. The production quality is very high; this is an
impressive book to leaf through, and the sprial binding is ideal for
field use.
Proceeds from sales of the book go to the Natural Areas Division at the
Cleveland Museum of Natural History, a division that protects more than
4,000 acres in the region, and is home to many of the species featured
in the book.
