Article source for : Black v. White - that 'racism' card
Racism. It seems to be more and more prevalent. So who is causing this racial division?
We have a white sportscaster saying "nappy haired ho's" and the offended race will settle for no less than his head on a platter. Then we have the 'spokesman' for the race wanting a presidential candidate castrated and calls him a nigger, but ignores the comment as if it never happened and calls him to represent them in the Lima 'racially movitivated shooting and jury selection'! They can stand at the gas pumps and greet each other "What'cha been doing, nigger?", but if I use the same term, there's going to be hell to pay! Being Native, I don't like the term 'Indian' (those are the people with dots on their foreheads) or 'Injun'. I don't like it if someone puts their hand up and says "How". I don't like it from a white, I don't like it from a black, a Mexican, from a Brazian or from a German, and I certainly wouldn't like it from another Native - as he or she would be more respectful of our heritage. No 'double-standards' here.
After there is a 'black/white' confrontation, claims of 'racism' are heard: "picking on our neighborhood"; "police ignoring our neighborhood"; "white cop shoots (half)black female"; "all white jury"; etc. Confusing, to say the least! Do you want the Police to NOT patrol your neighborhood? Do you want MORE Police and MORE cars for your 'hood? Do they only pursue whites? Should they have 're-drawn' the jury selection so there was an even number of blacks, or more blacks than whites? Should the civil service test scores and background checks be eliminated so that more blacks can be on the Police Department. And should only a black Officer arrest a black suspect and should there be a 'race-based' SWAT unit comprised only of peoples from each race and only that race can do high risk no-knock warrants on their own race?
Every time some black person dies at the hands of police while committing a crime does not make for racism; every time some black decides to flee from the police by swimming across a creek and then drowns because he can't swim does not make for racism. If you're arrested for driving without a license and your car is impounded, it is NOT the Officer's duty to call a cab for your children to get them home and is NOT racially motivated. And everytime a driver refuses to obey the Officer's order to get on the ground, does not constitute a racially motivated traffic stop and a call for a 'spokesman' for that race to come in and grandstand. (I remember years ago I was dispatched to a large supermarket on a shoplifter call. The store's security had caught a very large black woman shoving a cooked ham under her 'moo-moo' (I don't know the true name of the tent she was wearing). As I was escorting her out of the supermarket to the car, she said "You're only arresting me because I'm black!" Having heard this SO many times before, I said "That's true, ma'am. Had you have been white, or mexican, the store would not have called us and would have turned their head the other way. It has nothing what-so-ever to do with the ham you stuffed between your legs")
It is a small but vocal section of blacks that are the ones causing this divide by blaming each & every 'black/white' confrontation on 'whitey'. They are the ones causing the racism and are promoting exactly what they are trying to battle - racism. It makes me wonder if they are they trying to 'fight' racism, or are they trying to force a confrontation?
Although I don't consider myself 'white', I read with some humor and much disgust at these racial accusations and think "If you think you're being discriminated against, then my people REALLY need to get Russell Means on the same bandwagon as Jesse Jackson!" Maybe it's about time to start NAAIP (National Association for the Advancement of Indigenous People)!
These claims of racism are really 'wearing thin', and only serve to further a true racial divide. Maybe EVERYONE should 'get over themselves' and grow a tougher skin! Maybe I shouldn't 'correct' someone when they call me an Indian, or infer that because I'm part Irish, I am an alcoholic.
Much I've left unsaid, but I think you all get the 'idea'. Besides, it's 9:30 in the morning and I have scalps to clean and I my bourbon is in bad need of a refill.
