Ohio to receive $258 million in foreclosure relief WASHINGTON — The federal government is giving Ohio more than $258 million dollars to help areas hurt by the foreclosure crisis. The funds have become available through the federal Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008, signed into law in July. Cities and other municipalities can use the money to renovate homes or tear down blighted properties. Cleveland, one of the hardest-hit cities in the country when it comes to foreclosed properties, will get $16.1 million. Toledo will get $12.3 million and Akron will receive $8.6 million.
